Wedding Favor Ideas
Wedding favors may only account for an average of 1 – 2% of a typical wedding’s total budget, but they’re an important addition to most receptions. Not only are they a great way to thank your guests for sharing your special day, they can also double as placeholders, provide a creative way to accent or decorate your tables, and emphasize your wedding theme. Here are some popular, traditional, and original wedding favor ideas to consider for your event:

Edible Favors

Jordan almonds – come in assorted pastel colors and white, as well as metallics like gold and silver. Almonds are usually packaged in fives, which represent health, wealth, happiness, fertility and longevity

Chocolates – often in shapes (hearts, for example), but also can reinforce a theme: seashells, flowers, “perfect pear” shapes are some examples. Also can be candy bars with personalized labels.

Cookies – specially decorated, shaped like hearts, bells, doves, shells, or another theme shape. Also can be specific to cultural or ethnic background; consider Italian biscotti favors.

Groom’s cake – traditionally cut and boxed for wedding guests to bring home, this cake has started gaining popularity again in recent years

Fruit – dried fruits are another option, especially for fall weddings. The “perfect pear” theme is another popular choice.

Candies – other candies such as lollipops with special decoration or shape, decorated in wedding colors. Also conversation hearts, custom mint tins

Wine – small bottles with customized labels are a popular choice.

Coffee – favor bags of beans, accompanied by measuring spoon

Tea – decorated tins of special tea blends; special tea infusers

Gourmet – special relish, chutney, jam or jelly, honey, maple syrup in a decorative jar or bottle. Can also have personalized labels

How to Wrap Your Favors

Boxes – pillowboxes, paper boxes (white or colors, many shapes and sizes, decorated with silk flowers, organza bows, etc.), takeout boxes, clear plastic boxes
